When taking out or renewing your home insurance check the small print as some may want you to have a certain standard of lock on your doors. If you have a wooden front or back door then they may ask that you have a BS3621 lock fitted. This is for mortice dead or sashlocks and the way to check if yours is BS3621 is to open your door and check the foreplate on the lock. If it says 5 levers and displays the British Kite Mark and states BS3621 then your lock will be ok, if not then we suggest you have one fitted.
